Membership in Restore Traditional America is open to all citizens of the United States who believe in limited government and individual responsibility. Actually since we have no way to check, anyone who signs up will be considered a member. As time goes on, we expect that many members of the opposition will be monitoring our activities.

We would like to have as large a group as possible. There are over 500 congressmen and Senators and we need a lot of members to be effective against them all. Typically, you cannot send an e-mail to someone else’s congressman, so we need coverage on all of them.

We would also like to have people from diverse backgrounds. We collect information on the demographics of our members, but this is optional. We collect it so that we will know how diverse a group that we are.

Members in active status will be asked to ask to write between 1 and 2 e-mails per week. How many will depend on the number of issues that a member “signs up” for. In order to accommodate people who want a rest from writing e-mails and letters, we have an inactive status. This stops action e-mails from us except for a reminder about every six months. If your account is inactive for an extended period (over a year) we will delete it. Should you wish to become inactive, it is very easy. In the upper left corner of the Main Menu is the link entitled "Set Account to Inactive".

To make this interesting, we confer ranks on members, based on how active they have been. Each time a member takes credit for an RTA “action”, a point is given toward that person’s next rank. The lower ranks require relatively few actions, the higher ranks require many more. As a tribute to our armed forces, we use the ranking system of the US Army. You begin as a Private, and, with enough effort, become a 5-Star General. Our ranks are not given cheaply, however. To become even a mid-level officer takes a lot of work. To make it interesting, we maintain records of the ranks of members and display the highest ranking member for each district within a state and for each state as a whole. We will run the calculation only once per week, so if you make it to the top, you are guaranteed to stay there for at least a week.

Note that when we display the highest ranking member in a particular group, we list only your ID and number of actions performed. We will never display your e-mail address, which is the only personal information that we collect. In addition, we will treat your e-mail address with great care. We will never give it to any other group, nor will we sell it.
